Teacher Communication Commitment
Teacher and parent communication is key in creating a successful learning experience for every student. I feel passionate about creating a positive parent teacher relationship and pledge to keep the following communication commitments:
- I will do my very best to respond to e-mail within 24 hours. If you have contacted me and I have not responded within 24 hours please send a followup message (sometimes e-mail can get sent to the junk folder or other scenarios may occur).
- I will respond to e-mails sent after 4:30 pm (M-Th) or 1:30 (F) on the following day. I will respond to e-mails sent on the weekend, including Friday after 1:30 pm, on the following Monday.
- I will keep my website updated. Weekly homework will be included as well as a weekly letter and a summary of what students will be learning over a two week period (Two-Weeks At a Glance).
- If a student e-mails me I will forward and copy all parents/guardians for the remainder of any conversation. No electronic communication will take place without the parent being copied and aware.
- I will demonstrate kindness and professionalism through all my communication.
About Mrs. Reese
I grew up in Sandy Utah. I attended Westminster College where I received my degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education, and have also obtained endorsements in English as a Second Language and Educational Technology. I am in my second year teaching at Early Light Academy. Prior to joining ELA, I spent the past 12 years working in special education for Canyons School District.
I live in Daybreak with her husband, 7-year-old son, and two crazy pugs. Summer is my favorite time of year. In the warm months I can be found biking, kayaking, swimming, or playing at one of the many parks in the neighborhood. I also loves cooking and spend a lot of time watching the Food Network, reading food blogs and trying new recipes.
I considers it an honor to use my creativity and skills teaching 6th grade at Early Light Academy. I have a passion for helping all students develop a love for learning and strive to help each child reach their full potential through active engagement and hands on activities. I am proud to be an ELA Phoenix!
